AS Lossi and Erakor Golden Star crash out of the Oceania Champions League

AS Lossi drew 2-2 with Erakor Golden Star to secure their first point of the Oceania Champions League season.

The New Caledonia club had previously lost two games and were already eliminated from the tournament but a point in their final game also meant Vanuatu side Erakor also miss out on a quarter final appearance.

Erakor needed a win but even that may not have been enough as Solomon Warriors beat AS Dragon, with both of those teams qualifying from the group.

It was a superb start for Erakor when Bernard Daniel took advantage of poor goalkeeping after just three minutes to put his side ahead.

After half an hour Mone Wamowe equalised for AS Lossi from close in after good work by the New Caledonians. Before half time Damien Wanapopo poked the ball home to make it 2-1 to AS Lossi.

It took until ten minutes after half time for Barry Mansale to bring Erakor level. He volleyed home for his second goal of the tournament to give the Vanuatu side some hope.

Erakor pushed hard for an equaliser and there were five minutes of added time but they couldn’t find the breakthrough.
